MK8 ST-3 - OBD questions

Featured Replies

Hey everyone. I've recently bought an ST3 and am trying to put a little bit of protection on it.

I have a wheel lock; I have a special bag for my key so it cant be picked up by a relay and have a tracker. The only thing I want to do now is protect the OBD. I've heard from 'JB CTR' that fuse 10 will stop and data transfer across that port. Is this correct?

I just want to cover all of those bases. I feel better knowing they cant plug in and take off this way. If they are dedicated enough they can go for it. Its parked safely most of the time anyway.

I pulled the fuse on mine and even with a USB powered OBD device I couldn't connect to the car.

Honestly, the big yellow steering lock is enough of a deterrent for them not to bother. There's plenty of other mk8 ST's that will be far easier for them to steal.

But yes the fuse will stop any interaction at the port and I doubt thieves would even think to check it.
