Dash change mk6 stereo

Featured Replies

Hi, so I’ve recently brought a mk6 fiesta style 2005 and it came with the stereo unit of the (4500 I believe it is called). I want to basically get an aux cable going (Bluetooth preferably) but obviously I can’t fit a single din car stereo as it won’t fit.

I’ve been looking in YouTube and have seen some people take the dash trim out and cut the plastic bars, file them down, then put a fascia bracket in it to fit a single stereo, but I don’t really want to do that as I don’t think it looks all that great after being hand filed!

I know there’s a different dash trim on other fiesta’s that are really simple to unscrew the unit as a whole and fit a bracket. I’ve seen some on eBay really cheap and I’m sure I can grab one at the scrap yard?

would the other dash trim fit or is filing down my current one my only option?

I did see a guide a while back on how you can add a aux in socket (3.5mm jack socket) to these stereos you have. It does involve soldering three wires onto the circuit board inside the stereo. The guide showed you exactly where to solder the wires on.  If you are interested in doing that I could see if I can find it (but I won't spend the time if you don't want to consider that route)
