Help cooling fan??

Featured Replies

My cooling fan isn't working iv tryed all most everything an still not working. Iv tested the fan it works off the battery iv changed the relays an fuse iv turned the aircon on and still no fan iv put a new temp sensor still nothing. Anyone any ideas my cars an 04 fiesta flame 1.4

Have you checked the 40A fuse in the engine compartment ? Or checked for 12V at the fan connection ?

Fan switch ? normally in the coolant system some where, older cars it was in the radiator...if fuse and relay are okay

There is a collant temperature sensor in the thermostat housing, brings fan on at low speed, but fan normally runs fast as soon as air con is switched on.

depends how much trouble you want to go to to fix it properly and how good you are with electrics. Years ago on a couple of cars I had with this kind of problem, I just went for wiring up a switch on the dashboard to switch it on and off when I thought it needed it. Of course it meant I needed to look at temp guage now and then.

These were cheap old cars and I did it really because I needed to fix it quick and not mess about driving miles for parts etc. So used what I had handy laying around in garage.

Switch and wire must be of suitable amps and having a fuse in the circuit is of course a wise safety item
