I have not long purchased a 2011 1.4 Fiesta Zetec, Auto, and since I have had the car the tappets appear noisy, a lot noiser than I would have thought they should be.

Can anybody give me any advice or tell me that it is normal for them to be that way, getting really worried about this, please help if you can!!!!!!

I couldn't tell you for certain, but a lot of the time now people mistake the injectors firing for noisy mechanical elements of the engine.  Because the fuel pressure has been getting steadily higher to increase efficiency the injectors have been getting noisier.  I'm not saying that's what it is for sure, but if you've moved from an older car to your current one they would be noticeably louder, with a proper clicking noise.

Just a thought, to maybe help with the worries a bit.  🙂

Could be injectors , if your convinced its Tappets i believe most  are hydraulic could have a lasy one,additive in oil to clean them out,oil level may be low or one or two may need replacing or something else.

Would I be correct in assuming the car being a 1.4 Zetec it has a petrol engine? If you've only recently bought the car take it back to where you bought it and get them to check it out if you're worried.
