ST Line low mpg???

Featured Replies

Hi All!

I have had my new Fiesta ST line for just over a month now and i’ve noticed my mpg is not getting any better, sitting at around 30-32mpg even on a good run. Also noticed my engine temp doesn’t go above 80 degrees? Is this normal? I have read someone else had this issue and was fairly common, just worried this is what’s making the fuel consumption pretty bad.

Engine temp is very low.   Wonder if you have a thermostat problem.   The low temp could account for the low MPG.

Where do you see the engine temp?

I thought the temp gauge in the cluster was coolant temp or is that basically the same thing.

It is the same thing.

Our new Fiesta is a 1.1 which is supposed to be less economical than the 1.0 Ecoboost and we are getting 40-42 mpg & we only have 400 miles on the clock, so 30-32 sounds very wrong.

Have you reset the trip computer as it is continuous rather than resetting every journey.  When cars are being prepared they have a reasonable amount of time with engine running and not going anywhere so that will really hit the average in the first few hundred miles if not reset.

As suggested reset the ave fuel readout before your next long run - whats your average speed?

I'm currently pottering around and only doing 14mph and getting 35mpg - on a long run its 50mph and 60 mpg.
