Can't Remove 6000CD stereo

Featured Replies

I recently had a problem where my battery died on my Fiesta MK6 (06) 1.25 and of course causing my radio to need the code. My audio manual shows a Serial Number and there is a code written on the back which is different to what the serial number generates, nevertheless neither code works. I have tried profusely to remove the radio with multiple objects including radio keys etc with no luck. I've had the keys stuck and tried other things but still can't get it to budge at all. I tried accessing via the side through the glove box and pushing from the back however still stuck in. Tried a few garages and they cant help either. Is there any way to force out the radio i have a feeling the previous owner has changed and broken the retaining clips. or am i able to reset the radio using Forscan or find out the serial number/unlock the radio with that. Holding 1 & 6 also doesnt show the serial number.

The 1&6 method only works when the headunit is active; since your headunit is now in a locked state: the only option is removing it

Can you get your phone in from the side to fake a picture of the unit by removing the glovebox?

I tried the taking a video with the flash on and putting my phone in there it seems the label with the serial number on isnt readable as the plastic frame covers the sticker

The locking claws can get bent if the radio has been forced in.

Using a tool that goes deeper with more leverage should help.

Try the steak knife trick-

I didn't know Scappaticci was skilled in removing 6000CD headunits 😅
