Hi all,

 

new to this forum, hope somebody can help, i'm not a mechanic but will have ago at most things but need advise the air distribution control on my fiesta is not working the vents it is the manual version,

it is stuck on the front blowing vents if i turn the distribution control it does not do anything except when i put to window screen then it activates the a/c button as it lights up , any advise on where to start looking would be great .

I have the same issue on my 2015 Fiesta.  The heating control knob can't be turned to the first or last of the 5 positions and is stuck blowing air into the car, can't be directed to the windscreen or feet.

The problem is caused by the cable getting bent.  My local mechanic has changed it (used genuine Ford parts) in November when it first failed and last week when it failed again.  Last week it lasted 2 days before failing again !

Although the fault is caused by the cable, I need to know what is causing the cable to bend as just exchanging it isn't getting to the root cause.  It was turning freely when first changed.
