Rear Wheel Bearing/Hub

Featured Replies

So at least one of my bearings is on its way out so decided I want to swap them both out with genuine Ford Parts

Looking around it seems 2126980 is the correct part for my 2014 Ecoboost Fiesta but I can get a cracking deal on 1896739

1896739 looks exactly the same to me and some websites list the part numbers together as compatible so what I'm wondering is if 1896739 will actually be ok for me? Hope someone can help...

just because one side is going I wouldn't do both. Most bearings last the life of a car. There is not really any reason to think that if one side needs doing the other ever will need doing.

Thanks for the reply, they were cheap bearings put on the back and I've already had multiple failures and changes under warranty so that's why I was going to swap them both out for genuine, I will be doing the work myself anyway and it doesn't take long so just need to get the bearings for a good price that's why I posted the question, can anyone help answer it?

If you can get SKF hubs/bearings then you'll find them a lot cheaper than Ford ones, but as good as if not the very same... 'cos that's what Ford fit on the mk3 Mondeo

I can get the ford ones mentioned in the op cheaper than SKF

Well it's your shout then. 👍  Quite often there are alternative finis codes for seemingly the same part. Usually the seller is the one to ask about suitability. You could try www.catcar.info  and enter your vin  and see what it comes up with.

So decided to go for it in the end as I was able to get 2 of the Genuine Ford 1896739 bearings for less than £60 (for the pair!)

They look exactly the same as the old ones to me and fit perfect. Only difference I found is they don't have the 2 threaded holes for the drum retaining bolts but as the drum is mainly held on by the wheel nuts I don't see this being an issue at all

:-D
