Hi, so the only key to my van snapped, after much hassle I had to break the locks. I have fitted a new barrel, but its with a chipless key.. Now the van wont start. The red light (immobilser?) just flashes. The old key with the chip is stuck to the new key. The van doesnt turn over on the starter. All other electrics seem to work.

Does anyone have any ideas? The van has been stood so we are using jump leads on the battery.

thanks in advance

Guy

You might find the chip is still too far away from the pick-up, it's only got a really short range.  Try holding it against the dash while you turn the ignition instead of taped to the other key.

Ultimately you will need to get a chipped key cut & programmed.
