Aux In Probs

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I noticed today that that when I fully plug my 3.5mm iPod jack into the 'Aux In' port on the car the sound through the left speakers is really quiet whereas through the right it's fine. When I pull the lead out and half insert it everything sounds fine and the sound around the car is equal but it won't stay like this as the wire will easily get knocked and it'll go again.

Anyone else had any probs with theirs? One for the dealer to fix?

Maybe it's the jack that's at fault?

Have you tried another 3.5mm cable?

i had this but the jack itself was bent,,, i doubt it's due to the connectors wearing thin on the receiver port as this only tends too happen after many many years of use so just try a new cable, if not its your cars connection... music tech was sumat i cud always do ;) haha

Mines a bit weird also ( not trying to hijack your thread here! )

Sometimes ill have it playing through and ill put it in either 1/3/5 and it goes very very quiet, twiddle the conncection round and nothing. Take it out of gear and back it goes to normal. This is the 3rd cable ive tried now :/

I had this problem the other day with the griffin thingy. I tried plugging the audio cable directly into the ipod and got some crackles and left speaker coming back in so I tried another cable and it seemed fine. The cable that comes with the griffin is pretty thin so that might be it.

In my mk6 that exact thing used to happen! It always got better when I changed into third and pushed the gearstick forwards whilst in gear... how strange.

Thanks for the advice guys. I swapped the connecter in the jack for the one in my ipod and vice versa and it seems fine now! :D
