Fiesta / mic not working on sony head unit

Featured Replies

I have a 2012 Mk7 Fiesta with sony head unit (not sync apparently, but with voice control) - all bluetooth functions appear to work ok, but the microphone does not appear to work.

If I make a call, I can hear the recipient, but they can never hear me. (not just quiet, but not at all).

I also tried the voice commands, but I get the same issue, I get prompted to say something, but nothing is received, so I think it is a mic. issue

Are there any quick checks or resets I can try ?

If it is the mic, are they easy to replace ?

The only thing I found was temporarily removing a fuse (which I tried, but no luck)

Thanks

The microphone is overhead in the same enclosure as the map lights, and is behind the circular grill.

great, thanks.

I can see where the mic is,i'll get it out and test it - in a sense I hope it's faulty, otherwise the problem lies elsewhere
