Hi, bought the car 4months ago 92k on the clock, had a ticking noise from the top end, checked the valve clearances.

5 of the exhaust cams are between 0.01 and 0.03 out of spec on the loose side and 1 inlet valve is 0.01 out of spec on the loose side.

Ive been told the bucket and shim are all one peice and the hole bucket has to be changed.

Does anybody know where to get the buckets from or are they dealer only?, and if the clearances are on the very limit of fords specs would it be worth getting them all back in the middle range while all the cams are out?

Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

    Are you sure it's the cam followers at fault? Mine has always had a ticking noise from the top end when starting from cold and runs smooth as anything when warmed up. The injectors on these engines make a distinctive tick that does sound very cam like. 

    Could always try your local motor factor and see if they have any cataloging on the followers?

    I have a 2011 titanium 1.6 Ti-vct with 30k on the clock and i have a very slight ticking and that's on my 30k.
