Help please fiesta weird starting problem

Featured Replies

Hi all, thanks for reading this... I hope someone here will be able to help me get to the bottom of this problem.

I have a 2009 1.6 tdci fiesta and when the key is turned the starter pulses on and off...... consequently it won't start...

I have so far tried swapping ecu bcm transponder ring and cluster.... Changed starter, ecu, ignition relays with known working ones ........Changed cam position and crank position sensor and even changed the starter motor and surprisingly with no change. Its been scanned and shows no faults and the canbus communication has been checked and signals look fine.

I have never seen this problem before and its really got me stumped....

So if anyone can shed any light or make suggestions as to what to check next, that would be great.

Thanks 😊

Did you change the battery? lol. Will it bump start?

Could only guess at a bad earth somewhere maybe?

Sorry should have mentioned.... battery has been changed and earths checked .... all good

Change f32 7.5a.

Also, could be a relay with a bad contact.

Check that the fuse is the powertrain control module one. If that does not fix it, it could be the powertrain control relay.

Fuses have been checked and relays too.... f32 wasnt powertrain but I found the one that is.... and it checked out ok

Hi,

have you checked the  switch, attached to the end of the ignition barrel,

on the steering colum, can cause such weird symptoms.
