smell under boost ?!!

Featured Replies

hello to all 🙂

mine is mk8 2019 ecoboost 1.0 100ps automatic, I have this weird smell that come whenever I put the car under boost or accelerating hard somehow, it goes away as soon as you let go the accelerator pedal, may be few seconds after !! , well I can't really describe that smell but it is very much similar to the smell of a hot car radiator that has condensation on its fins !!! you know it gives a specific smell , it is very similar to the smell I'm experiencing.

I own the car for about 1 year now, oil level OK, coolant level OK, no issues at all or any abnormal noises, car drives great, no warning signs or lamps or any sort of problems, just that smell since new !!

anybody got a clue ?

thank you very much in advance 🙂

I'm guessing that you use the Air Conditioning a lot because of where you live. You could try to switch it off and see if the smell still happens, or maybe it will get worse because the Air Con may disable itself when the car is under high load.

I don't know if your car has a GPF, but if it does it maybe something to do with Regeneration, but I thought that only happened on the overrun on petrol cars.
