V. expensive non-starting issue

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 2010 S-Max Titanium, with the 2.0 TDCi Duratorq engine, which has cost me over a thousand pounds in the last three weeks - please help!

The symptoms are not starting, and when it eventually does there is a huge plumb of smoke out the back. This is what has been done so far, all by the same garage, and they have apparently test driven each time. Only once have any fault codes shown up:

- New battery - £100

- New DPF, then returned to me, wouldn't start the next day - £500

- New fuel filter housing, returned, wouldn't start the next day - £250

- New high pressure fuel pump. This time there was no power and the turbo wasn't kicking when I left the garage (they said they test drove it, but I don't believe them as it was noticeably under powered!) - £570

- This time 2 fault codes came up - P2263 and P0089. They replaced the boost pressure control valve, and it runs fine... BUT.....

This morning it wouldn't start again!!!! Eventually it did, and the same huge plume of smoke came out the back!!

Has anyone got any bright ideas as to the route cause of all this?? I've spend all of my money fixing it!!

Thanks.

All this non starting and no one's pulled the injectors to be tested? Dog has nothing to do with starting.

Apparently the injectors were tested on the first visit and were within tolerance.

Possible air leak in fuel lines, does it crank a lot then start if so it could be that.
