I recently bought one of the universal air filter cones and put it on my fiesta... currently I’ve just got it sitting on top of my air box temporarily... I noticed a sensor in the box which I think is a MAF sensor covered over in sponge I could be wrong though... if it isn’t could anyone clear up what it is and if it is a MAF sensor does it matter that it’s in the box and not connected to the air filter/hose

    If it a MAF then it needs to be in the air flow, also worth noting that the general consensus of opinion is that the cone type filters are no bettter and often worse than the standard.
