Just a tip for anyone else having problems.

Bought new new(ish) fiesta 2 weeks ago, and been having problems with the Adaptive Cruise Control.

It would work sort of for about 15mins then come up with a message saying sensor blocked.

After having a good look at it and removing the dealer number plate, turns out the plate was blocking the sensor.  So i took off the dealer advert, about 1cm and moved the plate up about 2cm.

Result, now works smooth and perfectly !

    Given the debate raging on another thread regarding the safety aspects of adaptive cruise, it's concerning that it can effectively be disabled by such a minor issue. Pretty sloppy of the dealer.

    Some dealerships are dumb beyond belief.
    Obviously they don't even know their own stock spec.

    I remember when I test drove mine and got the same error, they'd put the trade plates over it lol. They knew straight away when I mentioned it though.

    Hi Brian,

    I had the exact same issue with our nearly new fiesta vignale (also from lookers!) so just wanted to say thanks. Surprised the dealer doesn’t have the foresight to put plates on properly!

    My car came from lookers too 10k miles so far never had a problem touch wood. Like all places some are better than others.
