Mk5 Fiesta Cam position sensor.

Featured Replies

Hi, I’ve just taken ownership of what I believe is a mk5 1.2 Fiesta.

its in pretty tidy nick. But it does throw up an engine light from time to time.

it doesn’t appear to affect the running, but I would like to fix it.

the code is P0341 Cam position sensor.

im guessing the simplest fix is just put a new one in and see what happens. So, my question is where is this bad boy located? There’s a lot of plastic over the engine so I don’t really want to just start randomly ripping stuff off until I find it.

and are there any particular sensors I should buy/avoid.

thanks for any input.

Al

I'd it's a diesel it is the sensor near the oil filler cap. Try unplugging it and spraying wd40 into the connector. Might just be poor electrical contact.

On a petrol it's at the back of the cylinder head, at the corner above the exhaust manifold.

Both are held in by one bolt.

If you fit a new one smear a bit of oil on the rubber seal before ***** it back in.
