Getting through my bog roll stash!!

I found last nights announcement terrifying tbh.  No idea what to do for the next week let alone 3!  Any tips or plans @Morty1977?

Same as I always do. At home watching copious amounts of Netflix, Amazon Video and now Disney Plus.
I will also be doing a lot of gaming.

Staying in and not going anywhere is nothing new to me.

Thinking I'll need to get cigarettes soon...  Being at home 24/7 plus the stress means I'll probably be smoking more than normal, which is ironic during a respiratory virus pandemic I know!!

At least the £8 per day I'll save on diesel will pay for them.

Yeh cut up a newspaper and use that. Its what people here did in wartime. Also get some backbone and adjust it's not the end of world.

It's literally a global pandemic...  For many people it will be the end of the world!

Also, who still has newspapers, or indeed any form of paper correspondence these days?  Gonna struggle to wipe yourself with an iPad!

(I do have plenty of loo roll btw, I wasn't asking for tips on that lol)

As someone who is in the highest risk category I'm well aware of what the outcome of this could be for many but its still not going to be the end of the world for the majority, and unless you are a hermit in which case you are safe anyway there are millions of newspapers still sold everyday and tons of mail delivered everyday.😁

I'd say I'm more of a recluse than a hermit.

But groceries don't just appear, I would have to go shopping near 'other people' to get newspaper same as I would loo roll!  It was alright during the war when everyone had a paper delivered every day.  I dread to think how much they cost now, loo roll is probably cheaper!

I don't know where all of that mail goes, I never get any, no bank statements or bills, I'm all paperless now to save the environment!!  Too little, too late though, the environments all broken already...

Think of it being World War 3 against something so small we can't see.

Aye, I gotta confess; it does seem strange the way we're getting our knickers in a twist over, what; 50, 60, 70,000 predicted deaths? Statistically, half-a-million die in this country every year from whatever causes. But of course, the frightening thing with this is yes; it IS so small you can't see it. And the spread is at lightning speed.....and nobody knows where it'll appear next.

The way these idiots were all partying/holidaying/climbing Snowdon this weekend, and packing into the London Tube like sardines, well; they brought the lockdown on themselves. I just feel sorry for the majority of sensible Brits who are trying hard to keep to the rules....

Mike. 😉

If the NHS gets maxed out deaths could be in the region of 3-10% of people infected i.e. 0.5-5 million rather than 70 thousand - in months rather than the whole year. That's why it's a big deal.

When well treated it should be under 1%. Even in that case I think hundreds of thousands could happen.

I don't get why it's just the deaths people concentrate on...does anyone really want to be stuck on a ventilator for weeks unable to breathe and still have to be alive afterwards, probably with even more long term health issues?  I'd rather go quickly if I was to catch it tbh.

The worrying thing is that the case rate will still continue to rise for ~10 days even if everyone follows the advice.

A crisis of this magnitude tests peoples aptitude
