Boot constantly saying it’s open

My Ford Fiesta 09 plate keeps saying the boot is open constantly when I know for sure it’s shut. What could this be and is it possible to fix this myself?

    Lol. 

    It's probably the boot latch, there's a small microswitch in there that knows whether the boot is open or closed.  Easy enough to change yourself with basic tools.
