Ford Fiesta MK6 (facelift) 1.6 TDCI starting issue

Featured Replies

Hello fellow fiesta people , I recently got 2008 fiesta 1.6 tdci zetec climate and I’ve driven it once to work and then the next day it wouldn’t turn over. The battery is fully charged all the interior lights and switches and headlamps all work perfectly fine but it just won’t turnover.

Has anyone got an idea what the issue might be?

Thanks.

Does it crank when you turn the key? I'm thinking it might be the starter motor

No nothing I also reckon it’s the starter motor

Is the red immobiliser light on?

  • Author

Yes

Do you have more than one key to try?

Then it's the immobiliser not allowing the starter motor to turn 'cos its not sensing the immobiliser chip in the key. As above, try another key.
