MK8 ST - Aftermarket Sub install with B&O Sound System/Sub

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knows if its possible and if so how to install an aftermarket sub to my car with the B&O Sub/Sound system? It isn't as good as it hoped and I have my old VIBE 1050W sub and Amp from my old MK7 I would like I would like to put in it.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Cheers,

- Jason

It's the same as the install on your MK7, I can send you the wiring diagram for the connector you need to tap into if you want. There's also a loom which you can buy for subwoofer output which might make it easier

Hello!

Could you send me the wiring diagram and a link for the wiring loom? I might be interested in doing this as well 😄

Thanks!

PM me your email address and I can send you the wiring diagram. I have no experience with the loom since I tapped into the speaker output, but I've seen it displayed on some facebook pages

Hello, aw that would be great if you could, I would really appreciate it! So do I run the B&O sub and amp alongside the aftermarket one then?

Sorry, I didn't read your post properly earlier. It depends if you want both to run alongside or only the aftermarket one. I don't know how to do just aftermarket since I don't know if the B&O Sub uses the same amplifier as the rest of the speakers, but for alongside you can tap into the Subwoofers signal, and then just run power to the VIBE setup.

Hi, thanks for the reply. So would I tap into the lines that run just to the subwoofer, or the ones to the speakers? On my MK7 I tapped into the lines running to the speakers

If you have bang and olufsen already it would be best to just tap into the subwoofers since its already in the boot, no?

Any update on this, I have a 2020 focus with b&o sound system and I'm looking to put antohersub in the boot

I'm picking up a MK8 ST with the B&O system this weekend, how good is the sound system? I like a lot of bass so was wondering if anyone can tell me their experience with it?
