Have you had the letter ?

Featured Replies

A week or so ago Boris stated he would be sending a letter to every household in the UK . Has anyone received this letter yet ?

Nope.  It's gonna take him a while to lick 30 million envelopes though! 😮

I hope he doesn't or he's going to give the virus to the entire nation

Nope, but he won't bother sending them to Scotland since he couldn't give a crap about us!

No and if I get one it will be returned to sender.

Yeah, just like my dad did a few years ago. Thought he had junk mail and chucked it in fire in living room(I don't mean some random fire in the middle of room )

He then realised he was waiting for a cheque for some shares he sold. Pulled the letter back out and the cheque for £20k+ was well and truly burnt black. Ha ha .

That's the kind of thing that happens to me!

Many years ago it was my sisters birthday and my auntie got my sister some white silk hankies, her name ''Carol'' embroided on the top hankie and the box was personalised with ..............''A gift to Carol''....... My sister was very ungrateful in receiving the hankies and never used them, so ended up in a draw for a few years, then one year it was my sisters mates friends birthday and her name was Carol as well......So in a money saving venture she wrapped up the hankies for her friend....lol

A couple of days later my sister meets up with her friend Carol and was ever so pleased with the hankies and was lovely, Carol also said this....  ''Thankyou very much for the hankies as they are very nice and must have cost some money to have carol wrote on them''------''Oh and thank you very much for the £30''

My sister looked confused and said eh!! She could say nothing as the cat would be let out of the bag as the prezzie was a hand me down ..... So for all that time the hankies laid in her drawer so did that £30 which she never knew of!! 😁😁😁

Nope no letter/s to our house neither.

Soak it in IPA 😊. That's what I'd do.

You have to remember also a virus needs a cell to replicate so I won't live long on surfaces. Best though to research how long it can survive via dessication

If a virus needs a cell to replicate, how come Boris got it? 😂😂😂😂😂

Mine arrived today.

Nothing new in it, just the same advice being given in briefings.

I don't know what good it'll do soaking it in beer but, if you say so.....

If Boris has licked the envelope your better off with this brewdog

We haven't had any snail mail at all for a week, which at least means no junk mail either, which is a welcome bonus. Couldn't see the point in sending the PM's letter anyway, the text has been widely available online and in other media, and it just adds to the workload of the posties. Hopefully they might have dropped the idea.

Seemed a bit of a waste of 2.8million quid.

Postie's just been! No letter from Boris, though!😀

Just looking at the news you can see why they have to treat the public like we are absolute tools. The minority make it worse for the rest of us.

I guess the justification to send the advice to all households is that people can’t say they didn’t know.

Not everyone has access to the internet tbf.  And half of the stuff online is wrong now...  Unfortunately my Dad is one of those that believes everything he sees online after years of telling me not to trust people in real life. 🤦‍♂️   He's one of those trying to wash the virus away by drinking more.  And I've got 3 elderly relatives with no internet access at all.  Hopefully they'll watch the news on TV or hear it on the radio, but I guess it's still a choice to do that, whereas you can't really avoid a letter, you have to physically do something with it, even if that's just picking it up and glancing at it whilst walking it to the bin.

My problem with the letter is that everything is changing so quickly, I don't see how a letter written last week can still be totally relevant & correct now.

Something this government is good at doing.

Lol I think a lot of us are trying that. It might not work, but after a few glasses, who cares?😀
