No Cruise Control on Ford Fiesta MK8 Titanium 2018??

Featured Replies

Hello to all Ford owners,

i am new to the forum (first post),hoping you guys can help me out here... i'm curious about my Ford Fiesta TITANIUM that i have recently bought used (2018), everything fine except one thing that has me stumped - seems there is no cruise control button on the steering wheel (only speed limiter button, usually the cruise control button should be above it if i understood well). Of course the car was advertised to have cruise control (and Titanium should have it), had even a doubt that it is in fact a Titanium (!) but it has chrome exterior trim/ rear parking sensors, so no problem there. Checked on the Ford brochure and of course Ford confirms Cruise Control comes as standard for Titanium - is there something i am missing here? Could of course ask the dealer who sold it to me but they are not a Ford dealer so i don't expect to get much joy there.

Thanks,

If it hasn't got cruise control it isn't a Titanium model.

Rear sensors were an option, Zetec also had the chrome trim. Titanium in 2018 had EATC climate control which would be a simple way to confirm. But your V5C should tell you what it is.

Vehicle type on the dealer document is "FIESTA B479 5P 1,1 PETROL M/T TIT" (so TIT for TITANIUM, i would think) and the national V5C-type document (i live in Italy) is a very readable "Ford Fiesta JHH XYJE1JX 5APPZNABMAM" so no way to confirm from that- i can tell you that there is no EATC, what is confusing is that from the Ford brochure the TITANIUM is the only one model with a "chrome belt line finisher" and chrome grill - if my 2018 Fiesta isn't a TITANIUM (and the documents are somehow messed up) what other 2018 Fiesta doesn't have Cruise Control (and what model do i have then) ? (Fom the brochure i see they all have except TREND (which has no chrome), ST (can't be,different grill) and ACTIVE(mine is not a cross-over). Is there an easier way to clearly find out what model my Fiesta is from those references in the first line? Or can you suggest another way?

Thanks again,

Ah, didn't spot that you weren't living in the UK. If your car is non UK spec that is probably the answer, as UK cars tend to have higher spec. UK Titaniums didn't come with the 1.1 petrol engine for examp!e, only the ecoboost.

I’d echo what Eric says, the UK market does get a little bit more kit “spec for spec” so an Italian Titanium could have less kit than a UK Titanium. I’d possibly expect Cruise Control to be something that gets dropped and added as an optional extra. Another example is the “X” versions of trims like Titanium X or ST Line X, pretty sure the UK is one of the few if not the only that actually got that trim level

ok, i finally got closure - called Ford Italy and they confirmed it's a Titanium base model 2017 (produced in 2018) with no cruise control, seems that in the beginning it was an optional and then with time it became standard and the brochures reflect this (explains why all the brochures, even in Italy, have Cruise Control as standard for Titanium). Anyway case closed, frankly wasn't expecting it to be to complicated to get this clarified, so a lesson learned (car info can be sometimes misleading). Thanks again for the help, a good excuse to get registered on the forum.
