Just has to move my car to allow the bin men past and when going over a bump there was a clunking/rattling sound from the front drivers side suspension. I’ve tried bouncing the front of the car to replicate it and can’t. The front comes straight back up with no noise or Excessive bounce. Any ideas what this could be as I don’t need my car at the minute but need to budget for worse case scenario when I do

Were you at or near full lock?

All my Fords have clunked when going in to the driveway at a certain angle.

No I was driving in a straight line when I went over the bumps couldn’t really hear it on the flat or pulling onto the drive but it wasn’t near full lock. Will have a look at that

Put your phone or camera under the wheel arches and under the front and take several pictures. You will be able to see if anything us broken or damaged. Check the suspension spring at the top and bottom for breaks. Hopefully nothing has broken. Then take it for a short drive around the block.

Thanks. I cant see anything obvious but its definitely there going over bumps drove with the windows down and couldn’t hear anything untoward. Will get it checked out when I can it made a similar noise when I bought it and turned out they’d had a new suspension arm fitted but it hadn’t been tightened correctly but that was 3 years ago.

I've had a drop link nut come loose and make an awful knocking.  Just needed retightening.

I was thinking it may be something that’s come loose but can’t locate what it is at the minute. Will take the wheel off tomorrow and have A proper look At everything 

Silicone spray on the front anti roll bush

I'd bet the droplink is loose. I had a battle with one of the nuts, it seized half way off and the thud was horrible until I could get it tightened up again.
