New starter motor

Hi, can anyonr tell me why after changing my starter motor the car wont start. Giving a code u0120 lost communication with starter

2010 Mk7 fiesta tdci 1.4

Probably a daft question but have you checked everything is reconnected correctly?  Especially the small starter wire.

When was the last time you drove the car btw?  battery may have gone flat whilst awaiting the new starter...

Also I've heard newer models may need an error to be reset in order to function again; this is an effort to involve the dealership but a cheap OBD scanner tool should do the job if that's what it is, 

Does the fiesta have the secret menu like the focus of the same age? 

If yes then you can check the battery voltage yourself via the on screen menu here it is try this; then scroll through to see what voltage the battery is. 

Needs to be atleast 11.9V to start your Diesel

All sorted thank you, it turned out to be one of the plugs had come out of the ecu. I couldn't of connected it properly ☺🤫
