Squeaking / catching noise front right wheel.

Featured Replies

I have had an issue with my 1.0 ecoboost 13 plate fiesta for a long while now.

There was initially brake judder at higher speeds and a catching grinding noise when braking gently to a complete stop.

While in warranty ford replaced discs and pads. Noise disappeared for a month.

Ford the. Change anti rattle clips. Noise again dissapeared for a month.

Warranty has ran out by this point.

I then replaced the slider pins, discs and pads. Noise went for a few month surely its fixed.

Ok so the noise defientely seems to be coming from brakes. I bought some st calipers carriers discs and pads since i wanted to do this anyway. I refurbished the calipers prior to fitting.

Noise is still around, i checked out anti roll bar bushes looked ok, sprayed with some silicone and put back. Noise went for a couple of days.

This time i thought stuff it im going to get the car warmed up only happens when car / brakes are warm and then lift up and get underneath and attempt to replicate the noise.

Replicated the noise my front right caliper is moving back and forth during braking.

Took wheel off and intially looks like disc is warped due to the movement, took disc off looks like hub is displaying same movement.

So wheel bearing are next on the list. Wanted to post this in case anyone else has had a similar issue.

I have a video of the noise on my phone if anyone wants to see it
