Reprogramming immobiliser

Featured Replies

Hi,

Does anyone know what  in need to do here:

I have Mk7 fiesta and the battery was playing up. I jumped it a few times, tried charging, disconnected and cleaned the terminals etc and in the end got a new battery.
Now it’s connected, the power comes on but the engine won’t even attempt to start. There is a red fast flashing light between rev and speed dial which I read is to do with the immobiliser. It’s not giving off a code, just flashed repeatedly non stop.

I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery to reset but no luck.

Anyone know what I can do? I really don’t want to have to take it to the dealer, especially at the moment.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
thanks,

Alex

Have you tried removing the battery negative cable where it joins to the car. Try scraping the paint to expose bare metal and screw the earth wire back down. A bad earth here can cause the immobilizer to come on.
