Radio upgrade??

Featured Replies

Hi, I want to upgrade my friends car as a surprise and he is turning it all black and red so I want to make the radio black. Should I just take it off and spray it or is there a better upgraded one that i could get fitted? I know nothing about cars. This is what it looks like now.

You could upgrade to this.... 9f5a4331ac57d787d5df57e4a58ec08a.jpg

But it would mean swapping over the head unit and the facia and display at a rough cost of £80 - £120 but you would have to get someone to program it in to the car (a good ford dealer may do this for you) would be worthwhile speaking to one before you go buying parts.

The ford radio in mk7.5 (mk7 facelift) is black. I don’t know if it’s a straightforward swap.

Best option would be the full Sony upgrade with Sat Nav etc but on a budget the newer MK7.5 cars do have black ones so if you eBay it you will see you can get exactly the same ones as in the car already just black, should get one for £20 ish and it should be a straight swap
