Hi all just some advice I was going to get a replacement radio one with dab I found Kenwood Ddx4015dab and I can get the fascia to match, im wondering if it's a worthy upgrade and how much would you expect to pay for it, oh and does it have satnav in that unit not finding much information on it

The Kenwood units have Garmin as there satnav provider maps are updated via sd card that must be left in the unit and speed cameras are updated with poi loader and a usb stick

I do like the look of that if you do go for it please leave a review as it may help others

 

 

Android units can be a bit hit n miss so you need to be careful what you buy, I have also found those with surrounds can be more tricky to touch parts of the screen as the bezel gets in the way of your hands and fingers

Also make sure you get at least 4gb of ram as 2gb can be a bit slow

It's about £250 but you also have to pay for the "high" version upgrade at another £50 if you want the 4gb memory (it's worth it)

With this unit though you lose CD so if that's a need for you the Ownice would not suit you

If you do want CD make sure you check the listing properly as it's not always clear if it comes with it or not

It's a good unit with DSP but I changed to the Ownice so no longer use it, j would have to check with the supplier though about compatibility as you have an earlier model car than me but if interested PM me and I'll look into it for you

I also have lots of bits laying around for Android head units including DAB option for the unit I'm going to be selling, 4G module, TPMS etc

Very brave buying a cheap chinese unit from aliexpress.

Personally I'd pay a bit more and get one from a UK seller. It's very cheap for china to send stuff to the UK. The cost of returning something back to china is extortionate and often not worth sending back (that's if they even refund you should it possibly be returned to the seller).

It's not brave if you do your research and buy from a reputable company, the ones in the UK are the same as the ones in China just normally around twice the price which isn't worth it

The one I have that I'll be selling the supplier was actually very helpful, sent me parts of there were issues and upgrade parts as I wanted them without issue
