Fiesta MK6 passenger door won't unlock with key

Featured Replies

My passenger door wont unlock with the key I have to unlock it manually from the inside but key still locks door. I've tried looking around and can't seem to find someone with a similar problem. Does anyone know what is causing this and how it could be fixed? Thanks

The door can be locked with any key of the correct type - I have an old key that I keep handy and use it to lock my 2007 fiesta.

If the same key still opens both boot and drivers door, then the lock may be worn, or may just need cleaning (try carb cleaner, or perhaps Plusgas) then see of it improves.  Oil in key holes can encourage dirt to lodge in the mechanism.,

Has it been like this since you bought it or has it gone like this during your ownership. I am wondering if someone chAnged the door and couldn’t be bothered to swap lock over.  Or these keys do suffer badly from wear and maybe that lock was just a bit more susceptible to worn key problem than the others
