Boot lock changed, car won't start

Featured Replies

My car suddenly began to flash up with the boot open warning intermittently, this fault also made the central console light up on and off when the car was turned off and locked. From other reports of this inconsistent warning it was either the wiring or boot lock, I thought I would try replacing the lock myself. This worked fine, managed to test the fob to make sure it worked. Once I tried to start the engine there were some clicking noises and the engine wouldn't start.

Now when there's no key in the dials jump up and down slightly, and stop when I turn the key... The engine still doesn't turn over.

As the lock did work I'm assuming the fault could be elsewhere, has anyone had this fault before?

I'm going to check the fuses at the weekend, the battery tests fine.
