Hi,

I recently bought my 2013 Ford Fiesta 1.0 80bhp and started to hear this strange clicking/scrapping noise when slowly pressing the brakes pedal, pretty sure coming from the drivers side (right as I’m in the UK). The sound appears just for that specific position of braking, press the pedal further (for the firm braking) - no sound at all. What’s also interesting is that when the car is cooled off, there’s no such sound, it appears after a short drive at higher speed. I’ve been researching for days and can’t find the solution. I went to the mechanic two times already, we though that disk needs cleaning of the dust (at first), so we did it and... nothing’s changed. The next day I found a video on YouTube that has exact same sound so we decided to change the driveshaft, and guess what? Same clicking noise...

Any ideas what it could be? 

Check to see if the pads are loose in the calliper, also make sure that the brake calliper can move properly and freely on its mounts (if it's the standard single sided piston calliper that fords come with)

So it turns out to be brake pad shims clips whatever they’re called. Changed to new ones for both sides and the sound is gone.
