Mk6.5 Dead Remote Key.

Featured Replies

My Mk6 facelift Fiesta (2008) came with three keys, two remote control keys and a non-remote key.

All three of them will still open the doors, disable the immobiliser and start the car.

However, one of the remote keys will no longer operate the remote central locking. I've replaced the battery in both keys, and done the programming (turn the electrics on and off 4 times until the beep, press a key on each remote, turn the electrics on and off once more). And this one remote still won't register during programming.

I've tried fitting the battery both ways round, as I get a different result from google every time, and no difference. All the buttons on both remotes still audibly click when I press them.

Is the key officially dead? Obviously I have another one but it's helpful to have spares.

Thanks in advance.
