Car Auto Braking when Accelerating

Featured Replies

Dec 2018 Ford Fiesta Titanium Eco Boost 1ltr - When accelerating hard in second gear, the brake is automatically applied and message displayed “Brake applied to reduce power” If the accelerator pedal is continued to be pressed, the engine will stall and the car will stop. If the accelerator pedal is released, the message disappears and power returns.  This can be very dangerous e.g. in inside lane on dual carriage way and indicate, move into outside lane and accelerate to overtake and suddenly car stars braking on its own. Several times it has continued to slow down and stalled.

Not right.

I have mk8  1.0 ecoboost and i am scared with all these issues! Can you inform us about your problem? What was the cause?

Get it into the dealer ASAP

  • 4 months later...

Have about the same problem with my 2019 Ford Fiesta Trend 1.1 manual T, gasoline. I just did my 30.000 km service chek and after I keep geting this message

I found this answer.

Displays if you have not released the parking brake and the vehicle speed reaches 3 mph (5 km/h).   If the warning message remains on after you have released the parking brake, the system has detected a fault that requires service.Have your vehicle checked as soon as possible.

My car breakes above 30km/h. Will go to the service soon.

Probably faulty/dirty collision alert radar below number plate at front too! Would of thought you would of known if you drive off with hand brake on.

Smell of burnt pads/shoes

rear of car dipping

bad acceleration

wheel falling off from stub axle snapping from heat generation.
