NEW WING MIRROR

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I own a ford fiesta flame 2004 model.

Unfortunately some idiot while driving to work had broken my passenger side wing mirror, the mirror and attachment have fallen out.

I have already tried to find the new part but they never seem to have the right attachment at the back to fit correctly. The shape of the glass itself is correct but i cannot find the right clips at the back.

Just incase anyone has any idea where i can buy it as my MOT is in the coming months and i have had no success with this.

I am unable to attatch a photo but the clip is a circular shape in the center and has two straight clips on the sides if this helps?

Thankyou!

Greta

Can't hep with fixing but I think, and I could be wrong, that you can't fail an mot if the wing mirror is missing, only if it is cracked so obscured.

Worth checking maybe.

If any part of the forward facing part of the wing mirror is damaged it can be an MOT failure as it could be a danger to pedestrians in case of a collision.   If the wing mirror is missing all together it shouldn't fail so long a you have an interior mirror.

I agree with bob , I believe you have to have mirror on right plus one other which can be in the middle or on left. Missing mirror on left will be ok if no dangerous bits sticking out to injure someone. Remember the days when mirrors were extras? Or were out of reach on the wing so you could not adjust it from the seat. I recall my grandad buying a new Opel rekord. It had a left mirror but no right mirror. It was right hand drive but the factory didn’t not allow for that with the mirror
