Brightening Up The Mk7 Engine Bay

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Im wanting to brighten up the engine bay on my Mk7 ZS.

Anyone any ideas of things i could do? Ive looked into samco hosing, but it costs a fortune! Are there any cheaper alternatives?

Any other suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance guys!

You could try some DIY painting on filler caps etc :D

im hoping mountune do a carbon rocker cover, but theres not much out there autospecialists dont do anything for the mk7 which is a pity

European parts do an engine cover for £70 you could cover with carbon vinyl wrap.

I never see the point in spending too much money under the bonnet as to be honest, who sees it?

you want too see under my bonnet ;) after driving down a dust track every week when i dont rain for 2 days its just coated in dust!!

Thats why i made this post, im not wanting to spend a substantial amount of money, just a couple of simple cheap mods to brighten up the bay!

I would go for spraying caps etc then?

was asking this myself I quite like the idea of painting the caps and stuff like that. Wuld you need any speial paint?

also thought about the samco hosing just for the part off the panel filter. do the samco hoses actually change anything?

And also thought about painting the arm (or whatever you call it) that holds the bonnet up.

+ the engin cover where i would paint the ecoboost logo

theme would be orange think it should look good with the Red paint =).

any other stuff that could be done that are easy to do?

If your painting you could do the battery strap and the plastic trim at the front of the engine bay where the air box intake comes in. I would do it all red personally to match the car but that's just me

Forgot to mention its a mk7.5 zetec s fiesta. Wharts the plastic trim ?

My son painted his Saxo VTS rocker bright red, just used some high temperature paint and it looked pretty decent.

If you want to spend "loadsamoney" Mountune do a silver header tank http://www.mountunestore.com/Product/Alloy-Header-Tank/UKECIMANWD

and plug leads http://www.mountunestore.com/Product/Mountune-plug-lead-set

They also do inlet hoses in yellow you get a K&N filter as well http://www.mountunestore.com/Product/Mountune-Induction-Kit/PAZFRACMOT

I got a black one because I don't really want the engine bay to look different, but do try to keep it clean.
