What are these connectors and wires for ?

Featured Replies

Hi does anyone know what these cables behind the glovebox compartment are used for. the two gold plated cables look like some audio wires ? they are not connected to anything. Then there is a yellow connector, not sure what function it has. Finally the grey connector has wires on one side but the other side is not connected to nothing. i am trying to see if there is connections for the Adaptive Cruise Controller module which should be placed behind the glovebox.

They look like F-type connectors the same as saw on a sattelite box which would mean they feed to aerials for either a tv tuner or a Satnav

Not F type (to small) possibly cables for a removed tracker antennae. Have you tried tracing them back. Grey one could be for some feature not in your car but looks like its in the loom and not added .Yellow who knows, if no one else knows best thing is to try and trace them.

If they feed to the wing mirrors then there most likely GPS as ford used to and maybe still do put the GPS aerial inside the wing mirrors
