Dashboard lights stay on.

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have just bought my first Fiesta, a 2010 Zetec, 50,000 miles in lovely condition but is it normal for the dashboard lights and info screen to stay on for 15 mins after I've turned everything off and removed the key? They go out straight away if I lock it.

Regards

Tony

Hi Tony,

In a word - yes 🙂 that is normal -  my 2011 Fiesta does the same. Think they're on a 10min (ish) timer from what I've observed.

OK. Many thanks for that. Just seemed rather odd, what's the point?

Tony

Some of the modules stay awake in case you want to start the engine again.

By locking it, they all sleep quickly to save battery power.

Ideally, always lock it as soon as you're done.
