Oil leak at gearbox

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I just took my 18 plate fiesta st line for a service today and they advised there’s an oil leak coming from the gearbox. I’m wondering would this be covered under warranty and how would they be able to look at this, would they have to take the gearbox out? Just a bit paranoid it’s not covered under warranty. Cheers

Depends where the leak is coming from. If it's something like the driveshaft seals then no, the gearbox doesn't come out. However if it's from the input shaft (where the clutch is) then it will have to come out.

I don't see why this wouldn't be covered under the manufacturer's warranty. The engine and gearbox are the few things that are actually covered 😂
