LED Bulb Confusion

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I'm a bit confused on LED bulbs. I decided to replace the interior lights with LEDs and have had mixed results.

The forward cluster on mine has three bulbs within. 1x festoon bulb and 2x bayonet fitting.

I have replaced the festoon bulb without any trouble. But neither of the replacement bayonets are working.

If I put the original bulbs back in then they are fine. Has anyone had this issue or any ideas on what might be wrong?

Thanks,

Gledders

Try fitting them the other way round if you can, LEDS are polarity sensitive. It may be the ground is connected to the tip terminal in the bulb holder as for normal bulbs it doesn't matter. Test the bulbs with another known good polarity marked spower source, it wouldn't be the first cheap Chinese LED bulb that is actually manufactured incorrectly, they knock then out bu the thousands per hour!
