May be useful. This happened and the car was not performing normally when accelerating. I managed to take it to a ford RS specialist I know and after diagnostics he could not determine what the problem was but suspected the turbo. He said first before doing anything drastic he would carry out a smoke test on the air induction system. He said all ecoboost engines rely on a pressurised air induction system. As soon as he put the smoke test on smoke came out from below the engine. It was coming from a silicon hose at the bottom of the intercooler. The intercooler cools the crankcase breather gases that return to the air induction system . This was causing a loss of pressure to the engine turbo boosted air intake. The silicon hose securing ring to the intercooler had snapped and the hose was loose. He fitted a new jubilee type securing ring to the hose and this did the trick. The engine is running fine now with good power and acceleration.
