Ford Focus 2016 Sync 3 Text Notifications

Hi, I'm new to these forums. I've got a 2016 Ford Focus with Sync 3. I'm using an iPhone 5s but not using CarPlay as I prefer the Sync 3 interface. I've paired my phone to the Sync 3 via Bluetooth and am able to make and receive phone calls as well as listen to music from the phone on Sync 3. I am able to send text messages using Siri, but I am not able to receive text message notifications. I've got notifications switched on on the bluetooth settings on my iPhone, and Sync 3 tells me that I should receive text messages. I've just updated the software successfully on Sync 3, but I'm still not able to receive text message notifications. How long should the notifications take to come through? Am I just being impatient. The texts are arriving on my phone. Any help would be appreciated, as I'd really rather use Sync 3 than CarPlay as I prefer the interface, and it should work.

    I just tested 2 other phones and they both worked - an iPhone 6 and another iPhone 5s. The settings seem to be the same on all the phones. Can't understand why my phone doesn't pass on the notifications to Sync 3.

    Problem solved! I needed to turn on Show Notifications in Lock Screen on my iPhone.
