I'm looking for some advice. I just brought a 67 plate fiesta ST from a ford dealership and it wasn't till I got home that I realised the passenger door has a very metallic sound when shutting as opposed to the driver's side door.

I contacted the dealer and have been told the following:

'I have had this asked this a few times and have consulted with our body shop on the new model fiesta.

That is how they are produced and there is nothing wrong with the car and is a normal sound on the Fiesta St line.'

I just can't see that this would be the case, has anyone else had issues. To me it seems as though the door has been replaced and there's no insulation/deadening in there.

My 2014 fiesta titanium is also the same and very tinny when closing, always meant to take the door card off and have a look , but never got round to it.

Will be intrigued to hear other owners views

My 2010 titanium makes the same tinny sound when closing the drivers door, the other 3 doors sound as they should.

Had the same problem with passenger door sounded tinny compared with other doors.took it back to garage where I bought it from.they took of door panel and said there was only a small amount of silicone used which caused foam insulation to slip.sounds so much better now

On the 67 plate old shape St Line I had, the doors were very tinny when closing. The Mk8 doors are certainly an improvement.
