Grand c-max no power

I have just purchased a grand c-max 1.0. Does anyone now why the car won’t go above 4000rpm it just jumps at that. There is also no power when going up the smallest of hills, when I am on the motorway I have to drop down to 4th gear Just to keep above 55mph. I now this car isn’t meant to be fast but has no pull what so ever
