tailgate door lock removal

Replaced the whole tailgate today 2005 1.4 tdci  ju, all operations work (boot open button on dash and  button on key).

Unable to remove barrel lock assembly from my old tailgate,( s/h tailgate had lock in ) thus mechanical key action wont work with my key obviously.

Barrel appears to be held in with its centre pin on a nylon plate, barbed but i can't see how to release it.

Will upload a pic tomorrow, when i have another go at it with fresh head n eyes - but would welcome any advice from anyone who knows how to do it.

Ah, sorted - there are a couple of barbs on the shaft.

The actuator just pops off but requires a little force.

Thanks again.
