2015 Mondeo - Sticky Steering

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I just bought a 2015 Mondeo Mk5 Estate a few weeks ago with 83000km on the clock. I have noticed recently that the steering appears to occasionally stick slightly after right-hand bends as the wheel returns to centre.
Little force is required to overcome the stickiness, and it is intermittent. It also doesn't seem to happen at lower speeds, it's only around the 80-100 kph mark.

Any ideas on what this might be? Or is it just a "characteristic" of the car? It's in to a Ford dealer in the next week or 2 for another bit of work, so would like to be armed with some info beforehand.
Thanks.

There are issues with some Mondeo's withe the steering rack electric motor coming loose/falling off. The bolts that secure the motor on the rack corrode and snap off. You need to get this looked at as soon as possible.
