Ford Pass App - Remote start not working (Mk4).

Featured Replies

I'm on android and it shows the oil life but not the estimated mileage or service due date. Maybe they appear once the oil percentage goes below a certain number.

I've got the fuel report too which is in beta stage but it says not enough data to give me any numbers. How many tank fill ups does it take for it to become active?

While the lock/unlock feature is good, if possible I'd always going back to the car to lock it as using the app doesn't lock it twice.

I think the Fuel Report works on calendar months, so it should update early next month if you have done a full months worth by then.

When other problems pop up with the App and you can remember your sign-in credentials then if you either clear the Cache and Data or delete the App and reinstall it, it usually fixes the minor bugs that I and others have been having.

Quarter of a century since Windows 3.1, and we still 'reboot' to cure problems LOL

To clear some of the confusion here, having been using the FordPass for almost 2 years now, I'll share my experiences:

FordPass and FordPass Pro might not work, out of the blue. They (or one of them) might resume functionality in 30 minutes, or after the next 30 days. Anything is possible. Reinstalling the app might help, but not always.

FordPass Pro has better appearance, and more data. At the moment it's just a better app with the ability to add more vehicles. Ford has intended for it to be used by companies, and might start taking money for this app someday.

FordPass will start your car from anywhere in the globe, if your phone and car both have their cellular network connectivity working.

The fuel consumption report is a bit flimsy, from what I've been hearing from people. They're working on it ... 😏

As an extension to the original post I've just updated the Sync 3 in my MK4 Focus and now the option of remote Lock/Unlock and start are not even on the App anymore. I contacted help through the app and was told to delete & reinstall the app but even this hasn't resolved the issue. It's always worked fine no matter where the car is located.

I have the same issue. Currently I have the latest Sync 3 update and nothing works from the app, no locking, no unlocking, no start.

The standard Ford Pass App is very unreliable and those at Ford who should know how to fix it don't. The alternative Ford Pass Pro App, on the other hand seems a lot more reliable and those at Ford who look after this app actually seem to know what they are doing. You might expect it would all just be the same team but its not, I don't even think they are based in the same country.

Try the following to fix your problem, it works in 99% of cases.

Un-install the Ford Pass app from your phone. Next clear the cache of your android phone. Do Not reinstall the app just yet.

Go to your car and go to the option on sync 3 for a factory reset (yes I know, its a pain but it has to be done). Do the sync3 factory reset, wait till it is fully finished.

Now reinstall the Ford Pass App on your phone and after a few minites the car and Ford Pass app will start to talk to each other again.
