TPMS and Mot

Featured Replies

So the other day while out driving I got an alert that my driver side front tyre was at 21psi. I got home and put the pump on and it was at 1.8-2bar. next time I went out it did it again. So I found somewhere safe and put the pump on and the same thing. Then it said the TPMS sensor was faulty. But still lets me drive. Is it easy to replace? How much would it cost to get done and if I don't do it. Will it still pass an MOT as the warning light comes on?

Won’t pass mot with light on.

Not sure that having a fully operational TPMS system is part of an MOT. Though I think if memory serves correctly, I paid about £25 from Allen Ford for one after a tyre shop broke it on a Focus 2 years ago, assuming they are all the same that'd be about the price.

You can turn the tpms off with forscan so no more lights but no more tpms as well. But very easy for a garage to replace sensors and ford ones are cheap

It won't pass MOT with this light on, new regulation. It is a cheap repair also 👍
