Hi guys.

Amber engine warning light just come on.

Fiesta Zetec 1.0 eco boost 2018.

Under warranty.

Ford dealer can’t fit me in until 25th September but say it’s okay to drive.

Am concerned at leaving it so long.

Any advice appreciated.

    It's likely to be an emissions issue rather than a problem with the engine itself. Only really matters for the MOT. Mine was on for many months before the sensor was replaced.

    What code(s) have you got? An engine warning light could mean anything.

    Worthwhile reading the codes yourself. Ford will charge a fortune just for giving a possible diagnosis.

    Usual rule of thumb-

    A solid engine light means check the car as a priority but still driveable (do not ignore and do not continue with normal everyday driving, just minimal usage e.g. drive to garage / home / safe parking area).

    A flashing engine light means stop as soon as safely possible, go no further and call recovery immediately.
